Summer Project Leader
The Summer Project Leader will facilitate the Kenosha County Summer Youth Program by leading youth crews and counselors in outdoor conservation projects. They will gain experience in various conservation areas and explore career options, all while receiving support and mentorship from Kenosha County Parks staff.

AIS Prevention Technicians
Our Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Technicians will be stationed at Voyageurs National Park and work with park staff to decontaminate watercraft and educate visitors about preventing the spread of AIS. Their efforts will improve park decontamination processes, and they will also assist with natural and cultural resource projects to gain experience in resource management.

Sylvania Wilderness Assistant
The Ottawa National Forest Sylvania Entry Station Assistant will aid the recreation program in Watersmeet, MI, by providing visitor information about Clark Lake and Sylvania Wilderness. The role includes educating users on wilderness regulations and coordinating responses to inquiries about recreation facilities, permits, and activities.

Trails Recreation Technician
This position entails physically demanding trail maintenance, requiring the ability to lift and hike with tool packs up to 50 pounds. It may include overnight trips and various complex trail and campsite projects. Responsibilities involve using tools like chainsaws and axes for backcountry maintenance and conducting monitoring and inventory work to support the Forest Plan.

Visitor Center Assistant
The Ottawa National Forest Visitor Center Assistant provides public information and handles inquiries about recreation facilities, permits, and points of interest. Responsibilities include educating visitors on Leave No Trace principles, assisting with interpretive programs, and helping to develop media and exhibits for the Visitor Center.

The Ridges Sanctuary is seeking a person to join their conservation team. Duties include assisting the Land Manager, managing an independent project, and supporting research and events. Ideal candidates should be knowledgeable about local flora and management practices and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Summer Naturalist
The Ridges Sanctuary is seeking a person to join their naturalist team. Responsibilities include leading educational programs, guiding hikes, and assisting visitors at the Nature Center. Opportunities also include participation in the Orchid Research Project and land management activities.

Land Steward and Outreach Member
The Land Steward and Outreach Member will gain hands-on practical conservation stewardship and outreach skills while exploring career options. The goal is to promote community service and environmental awareness through La Crosse community engagement and outdoor volunteerism.

Environmental Education Coordinator
Camp Ehawee’s IP Member will guide nature programs for girls at Summer Camp to meet badge requirements. Activities will include planting, harvesting, and hiking, providing meaningful experiences through a nature-based curriculum with The Girl Scouts of WI Badgerland.

Recreation and Habitat Specialist
Perrot State Park’s Recreation and Habitat Restoration Specialist will perform various conservation work regarding trail construction, habitat restoration, and park maintenance. They will also act as the point person regarding the Buffalo River State Trail, which connects Fairchild, WI, and Mondovi, WI.

Hunt Hill Nature Center Environmental Educators will work with the Program Coordinator to implement effective and interactive environmental education programs for youth. Crew Member
Crew Members (ages 18 and 30) undertake high-priority restoration projects across Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. WisCorps crews travel throughout the season and can anticipate working on conservation service projects with three to six different project partners during their season. Our members undergo a half week of onboarding before setting out on their first project.

The City of La Crosse’s Sustainability Coordinator will help the Environmental Planner and the CAP Steering Committee implement the Plan by developing solutions, providing incentives, managing pilot projects, engaging with the community, and participating in sustainability programs focused on data collection and reporting.

Field Coordinator
Field Coordinator positions are full-time and seasonal, based out of the WisCorps office in La Crosse, WI. Coordinators will travel to project sites in Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest, supervising 2-3 AmeriCorps field crews. Responsibilities include project preparation, implementation, and reporting, ensuring crews are equipped with the necessary supplies, tools, and transportation.

The pilot team of AmeriCorps Land Stewards at The Prairie Enthusiasts will engage in hands-on conservation activities and receive training from our experts. AmeriCorps Facility Sustainability Technician
AmeriCorps position assisting Dane County Facilities Management in reducing carbon emissions through hands-on projects, such as converting lighting to energy-efficient LED fixtures and maintaining solar PV installations at County sites. Two positions are available!
