Why WisCorps Rebranded

Written by Paige Manges, Central Conservation’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator

It’s a fun time to be a part of WisCorps. We are embracing a substantial momentum shift as we embark on gaining a national presence within the conservation industry.

Our crew and individual placement programs have dramatically evolved since their initial launch fifteen years ago with then Executive Director, Matthew Brantner.

Gaining insight from seasonal members, full time staff, project partners and program alumni guided our transition into a brand that represents youthfulness and eagerness to make the natural world a better place for all who inhabit it. This fresh perspectives inspired our internal team to fine-tune what an organization with this approach to conservation, service and community looked like — and bring forth that ambition into the look and voice of our organization to best attract, support and amplify the next generation of environmental leaders who are determined to leave a lasting legacy on our Earth.

To start, we went through a strategic discovery phase to better understand how our past has impacted our organization and collectively determined goals for where we want to be in the next five, ten, and twenty-five years. Above all, we hope you’ll find that there’s an invitation included in every aspect of our new brand guidelines. WisCorps works hard and heavily relies on collaborative partnerships who believe and empower the same mission to make conservation projects a top priority. It is our biggest wish that our programs provide opportunity for hands-on connection that educates, empowers and encourages young people to connect with the beauty of our natural world. This shared sense of profound accomplishment and connection bonds our staff, crews, individual placements, program alumni and project partners.

QUOTE FROM the DIRECTOR OF WISCORPS, ERIC ROBERTSON

WisCorps has always been an organization founded on doing the right thing, no matter what it takes. We put in serious hours, build strong and lasting partnerships and appreciate both the land we’re working on and the people who are putting forth the effort.

Our agency partners, BWdB, were perfect in the sense of matching our energy and enthusiasm for conservation efforts required to restore habitats and invite people into environmental-driven topics. BWdB stood out to our team based on their commitment to amplifying the impact of nonprofits by creating quality brand packages through sponsored rates. There’s a powerful sense of purpose found in working with a team of creative people who are solely focused on fixing collective problems for the greater good.

QUOTE FROM BWdB OWNER, IRV BRISCOE

We are honored to be a benefactor of their ability to establish WisCorps as an organization with a high level of professionalism, which is demonstrated through the advanced qualifications of our full-time staff. They offered their expertise in strategic branding guidelines, social strategy, website development and creative consultation. As we launch our new image into the world, we are tremendously grateful for their partnership and humbly recognize their commitment to pushing for more overall awareness around conservation practices.

When a rebrand happens, you’re often left with the question of why. Our hope is that you see our enthusiasm to provide opportunities for the next generation of environmental leaders to leave a lasting impact on our Earth. This is the start of the next chapter of WisCorps, a chapter we hope you’ll be apart of.
