Position Overview:
The AmeriCorps Program Manager provides management and oversight for the WisCorps AmeriCorps grant through Serve Wisconsin and the Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS). The WisCorps AmeriCorps program will place 47 AmeriCorps Members throughout WisCorps programs, as well as at 4-7 external placement sites. The Program Manager will work closely with WisCorps program staff and external placement site supervisors where AmeriCorps Members are placed to ensure compliance with all AmeriCorps policies, procedures, and grant contract obligations.

The Program Manager will work closely with the Operations Director and Executive Director on the overall vision, direction, and implementation of the WisCorps AmeriCorps program. Extensive travel with some weekends and evenings will be required throughout the course of the year.

WisCorps is a 501(c)(3) non-profit conservation corps that provides a valuable service to local communities and the environment by engaging youth and young adults in direct conservation and community revitalization projects across the state of Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest.

Program Manager Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the overall leadership, oversight, and support of the WisCorps AmeriCorps program
-Serve as the primary liaison and point of contact with Serve Wisconsin and the CNCS
-Communicate regular programmatic and fiscal updates to Serve Wisconsin and attend all Serve Wisconsin trainings and partner meetings.
-Maintain rigorous oversight for all AmeriCorps and Serve Wisconsin compliance requirements including background check processes, enrollment, exit, timekeeping, quality assurance, and CNCS Prohibited Activities.
-Oversee the development of systems for effective program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
-Conduct Member evaluations and site visits, meet with AmeriCorps Member supervisors to ensure outstanding Member support.
-Develop training plans to enhance each Member’s AmeriCorps service and provide professional development and leadership skills.
-Develop and maintain an AmeriCorps Member Handbook
-Monitor and adapt the program to changes in federal regulations related to AmeriCorps
-Keep all paperwork for reporting and member files up-to-date and in compliance
-Support the recruitment process for new AmeriCorps Members
-Manage the enrollment, orientation, evaluation, and exit process for all Members
-Support CNCS audits and the resolution of any findings
-Compile qualitative and quantitative data for progress reports submitted to the CNCS and assist with the renewal grant to Serve Wisconsin as needed.
-Organize AmeriCorps events centered around National Days of Service, including but not limited to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance
-Remain drug free and refrain from use of alcohol or tobacco while on duty, onsite, or in uniform
-Perform other duties as needed in support of the AmeriCorps program or other WisCorps programs

Program Manager Qualifications:
-Experience with AmeriCorps or other similar federal programs, a must
-Demonstrated ability to effectively provide program oversight and leadership
-Experience in ensuring compliance with federal regulations, a plus
-Prior experience in supervision and/or support of multiple staff persons
-Highly organized with strong attention to detail
-Experience with compiling data and creating reports, a plus
-Proficient communication skills, a must
-Highly self-motivated, hardworking, confident, autonomous
-Has a sense of humor, able to think creatively outside of the box
-Willingness to accept constructive criticism
-Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
-Ready to undergo a criminal background check
-Believes in the WisCorps mission and willing to implement WisCorps policies and procedures
-Experience with the eGrants database and OnCorps reporting system, a plus
